What this is

NoCrickets is a free search tool. You describe an idea; it queries public developer communities and shows you the real, dated threads where people discuss that problem, plus a plain-arithmetic read on how much signal it found. There is no account, no signup, and no AI model generating answers.

Your privacy

• Your idea isn't stored. When you search, your description is sent to our server only to build the queries and call the public APIs. We log anonymous counts (how many threads and rooms came back) and never the text of what you typed.
• Your pipeline never leaves your browser. Threads you save live in your browser's localStorage on your own machine. They are never sent to us. Clear your browser data and they're gone.
• No accounts, no cookies. We don't ask who you are and we set no cookies. To understand how the tool is used (which pages people visit, what they click, whether they come back) we use PostHog, a privacy-respecting analytics tool, with an anonymous id kept in your browser's localStorage. It never records your screen, and it never captures what you type: your idea and your email are excluded from it entirely. Only aggregate, anonymous usage, so we can see what to improve.
• Email is opt-in only. If you email the founder about Pro, we keep that message so we can reply and let you know when it ships. That's it.

Where the results come from

Threads are fetched live from third-party services: Reddit, X, GitHub, Hacker News, Stack Overflow (Stack Exchange), and public Discourse forums. That content belongs to those platforms and their users, and their own terms apply when you visit. We link straight to the original; we don't copy or host it.

Terms of use

• As-is, no warranty. The tool is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement), to the maximum extent permitted by the law that applies where you live. Results may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and the service may change or stop at any time without notice.
• Not advice. It is a research aid, not professional, legal, financial, investment, or business advice. Verdicts and scores are automated arithmetic over public posts, not a recommendation to build, buy, or invest in anything. What you do with them is your decision and your responsibility.
• Third-party content. Every result links to content owned by other platforms and their users. We don't control it, endorse it, or vouch for it, and their own terms apply when you visit.
• Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NoCrickets and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business decisions made using the results. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service (for the free tool: nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded in your jurisdiction.
• Fair use. Don't hammer the upstream APIs, scrape at scale, resell the output as a feed, or break the upstream platforms' rules. Search like a human.
• When you reply in the threads you find, be genuine: a real answer, not a drive-by plug. That's the whole point.
• “Pro” is currently a test of interest, not a product you can buy yet. The button and email opt-in exist to gauge demand honestly before anything is built or charged.
• Everywhere. These terms are written to apply wherever you are. If a part of them isn't enforceable where you live, the rest still stands. If you don't agree with them, the fix is simple and free: don't use the tool.
